CEREC CEREC is a CAD-CAM System to make fully ceramic inlays, onlays, crowns and veneers in one session and has been used successfully in large numbers of dental surgeries worldwide for about 25 years.
The Cerec method makes it possible to prepare high-quality, tooth-colored fillings and crowns in only one session. The Cerec method combines both medical and quality of life benefits:
QUALITY OF LIFE Cerec offers aesthetically perfect looks because the ceramics used cannot be distinguished from natural teeth.Only one session is necessary for a Cerec treatment.
SAFETY You can rely on the life span of Cerec products. The Cerec method is a perfect fit thanks to precise computer-aided design and manufacturing.
HEALTH There is no inflammation or irritation of the mucous membrane or gum thanks to bio-combatible and non-cytotoxic ceramics.
Cerec enables a tissue-preserving treatment with only the minimal loss of tooth material.
The entire treatment takes about one hour.
A small mouth camera takes an optical cast of the prepared tooth (prepared means caries and old fillings have been removed) at the start. The screen shows an exact, three-dimensional model of the tooth.
COMPUTER-AIDED DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING - CAD-CAM SYSTEM The tooth's missing part is designed on the computer (CAD) to the most precise level possible and then manufactured in a custom-fit form from a ceramic block by the computer (CAM).
APPLICATION The new Cerec part is fitted to the tooth using a special adhesive procedure.
